4-11-15: SUSPENSION AND REVOCATION:
   A.   Driver's licenses shall be revoked upon the conviction of a violation of any criminal statute relative to the sale, possession or delivery of intoxicating liquor or controlled substances; drunk or reckless driving; shall be suspended upon the first offense of speeding and revoked upon the second offense. If revoked for any cause, no new license shall be granted to such driver except upon the unanimous vote of the city council. In the event of conviction as above set forth, an acquittal in a higher court shall automatically remove such grounds of revocation.
   B.   Driver's licenses may be suspended or revoked at any time by the governing body for good cause shown upon a hearing thereon, also upon the entering of a judgment or verdict of guilty of any person holding a driver's license. Any such suspension or revocation shall be noted on the license, together with a statement of the reason therefor. A second suspension for the same reason, or in any case, a third suspension of a driver's license, shall revoke the license. In all cases involving a suspension, it shall be discretionary with the city council as to the tenure of the suspension. (2003 Code § 5-09-15)
