(A) Width. The minimum width of a driveway shall be 10 feet and the maximum width shall be 12 feet, unless the garage is within 75 feet of the front or exterior side lot line where the intersection of the street and driveway occurs, in which case the driveway shall not exceed 18 feet in width. The foregoing limitations on driveway width are not intended to prevent the installation of a maneuvering area that is within 30 feet of the garage door(s), to facilitate entrance to and exit from the garage door(s).
(B) Radius of curb return. The curb return radii of driveways connecting to any village street or private road shall not exceed ten feet.
(C) Overhead clearance. Driveways shall provide at least 14 feet in overhead clearance. This includes clearance between trees and limbs along the driveway, as well as between gates, pillars, and statues that may be present at the driveway entrance.
(D) Semi-circular driveways. Semi-circular driveways shall be prohibited if the garage is within 75 feet of the front or exterior side lot line where the intersection of the street and driveway occurs.
(E) Auxiliary parking areas. Auxiliary parking areas are subject to, and shall comply with, the following requirements and standards:
(1) Only one auxiliary parking area is allowed on a single lot or parcel. Auxiliary parking areas are limited to three parking spaces and may not exceed 600 square feet in size.
(2) Auxiliary parking areas shall not be located closer to a rear or side property line than the minimum distances for accessory structures, or closer to a front lot line than the minimum distance for dwellings under the village zoning ordinance.
(3) Designs for auxiliary parking areas that decrease the amount of impervious surfaces, such as permeable paving, shall be encouraged.
(4) Auxiliary parking areas shall be screened by perimeter landscaping consisting of ground cover and a hedge (densely planted shrubs) such that parked vehicles are not visible from the street or adjoining properties.
(5) No recreational vehicles, commercial vehicles, boats, trailers, mobile homes, or unlicensed motor vehicles shall remain in an auxiliary parking area for longer than allowed by the village zoning ordinance.
(6) Auxiliary parking areas are not allowed if the garage is within 75 feet of the front or exterior side lot line where the intersection of the street and driveway occurs.
(7) An auxiliary parking area and semi-circular driveway on the same lot or parcel shall be prohibited.
