§ 34.01 VILLAGE MANAGER.
   (A)   The administrative powers and duties of the village shall be vested in the Village Manager, except as otherwise provided in the Village Charter. The Village Manager shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Village Council on the basis of qualifications for the position of Village Manager and shall hold office at the pleasure of the Village Council. The Village Manager need not be a resident of the village. The Village Manager’s compensation shall be set by the Village Council.
   (B)   The Village Manager shall carry out the policies formulated by the Village Council; is responsible for the supervision and management of all the services of the Village; and is responsible for the enforcement of the ordinances of the village, the Village Charter, and applicable laws of the state. The Village Manager shall provide reports to the Village Council. The Village Manager shall have the right to take part in the discussion of matters coming before the Village Council but shall have no vote. The Village Manager shall be authorized to sign contracts on behalf of the village if the contracts have been approved by the Village Council. In addition to the duties prescribed by the Village Charter, the Village Manager shall perform such other duties as may be required by ordinance or by resolution of the Village Council.
