§ 31.50 AUTHORIZATION OF MAYOR.
   The City Mayor is hereby authorized to direct the Chief of Police of the City Police Department to detail regularly employed law enforcement officers to assist any county or municipality, when in the opinion of the Mayor or other officer authorized to declare a state of civil emergency in the county or municipality, there exist in the county or municipality, a need for services of additional law enforcement officers to protect the health, life and property of the county or municipality, its inhabitants and visitors thereof, by reason of riot, unlawful assembly characterized by the use of force and violence, or threat thereof within the meaning of Tex. Loc. Gov’t Code, Art. 362.001, which is now in full force and effect, and a request for additional law enforcement officers is made to the Mayor of the city by the Mayor or other officer authorized to declare a state of civil emergency in the county or municipality.
