The liability of the city shall be in accord with the statutory and case law of the state, for its actions under the State Emergency Management Act of 1996, being M.S. Chapter 12, as it may be amended from time to time. The provisions of this section shall not affect the right of any person to receive benefits to which he or she would otherwise be entitled under this section or under the Workers’ Compensation Law, being M.S. Chapter 176 et seq., as it may be amended from time to time, or under any pension law, nor the right of any such person to receive any benefits or compensation under any act of Congress.
