The purpose of the Multifamily Housing Registration Code is to protect the public health, safety, and general welfare of the people of this city. These objectives include, among others, the following:
1. To correct and prevent multifamily housing conditions that adversely affect or are likely to adversely affect the life, safety, general welfare, and health of city residents; and
2. To provide minimum standards for fire and life safety of occupants of residential multifamily buildings.
