1230.15 BUILDING HEIGHT.
   "Building height" means the vertical distance measured from the average grade of the ground at the front of the building (before construction) to the highest point of the roof for flat roofs, to the mean height between eaves and ridge for gable, hip and gambrel roofs and to the mean height between the top line of the roof face or roof side and the ridge for mansard roofs. When building height is referred to in this code by stories, only stories above grade plane should be considered.
