(a) The Environmental Sustainability Advisory Council shall be advisory in nature.
(b) The duties and responsibilities of the ESAC shall include, but not be limited to:
(1) Advising the City on:
A. The implementation and revisions of the Bexley Zero Waste Plan (ZWP);
B. The review of existing city green policies;
C. Trends affecting the environment and the community;
D. Recommendations on methods of funding the ZWP, programs and strategies.
(2) Recommending city and community priorities and resources relative to the ZWP and other sustainability issues;
(3) Coordinating and assisting other City of Bexley boards and commissions to determine if new plans/proposals are in compliance with ZWP sustainability goals;
(4) Partnering with outside boards and commissions, such as MORPC and the Franklin Soil & Water Conservation District, to further the city's sustainability goals;
(5) Advising the City regarding green energy initiatives;
(6) Providing a forum for addressing public concerns relative to sustainable practices;
(7) Developing educational outreach activities and materials; and
(8) Drafting indicators to measure the successes of the ESAC; and
(9) Pursuing other goals and objectives that are generally in keeping with the above duties and responsibilities and as may be determined appropriate by the membership of the ESAC.
