(A) Accrual of sick leave. FT employees accrue 7 days of paid sick leave per calendar year and will earn .6 hours of sick time per month. At the discretion of the supervisor, an FT employee may use paid sick days that have not yet accrued.
(B) Limit on accruals of paid sick leave. FT employees may accumulate up to 30 days of accrued unused sick leave from year to year. Accruals in excess of 30 days are forfeited.
(C) Employee responsibility. To qualify for sick leave pay, FT employees must notify their supervisor before the start of the regular work shift that they will be absent due to illness or injury and keep their supervisor informed of the nature and extent of their illness or injury and of their anticipated date of return to work.
(D) Right to physician statement. The town reserves the right to request a physician statement from an FT employee who is off 3 or more days for illness or injury.
