For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
COMMISSIONER. The Building Department Commissioner for the Town of Beverly Shores who shall be the enforcement authority for purposes of this chapter.
HEARING AUTHORITY. That person appointed by the Common Council from time to time to hear appeals of any Commissioner order issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
ORDER. Any directive issued by the Commissioner. Except in emergency situations, the ORDER should be in writing.
PERSON. Any individual or entity capable of holding an interest in real estate.
SUBSTANTIAL PROPERTY INTEREST. The definition of SUBSTANTIAL PROPERTY INTEREST set forth in I.C. 36-7-9-2 is incorporated herein by reference. As of the date of this chapter it means any right in real property that may be affected in a substantial way by action authorized by this chapter, including a fee interest, a life estate interest, a future interest, a mortgage interest, or an equitable interest of a contract purchaser.
TOWN. The Town of Beverly Shores, Indiana.
UNSAFE BUILDING. See I.C. 36-7-9-4(a) and I.C. 36-7-9-4.5, as amended.
UNSAFE PREMISES. See I.C. 36-7-9-4(b) and (c) and I.C. 36-7-9-4.5, as amended
