Appointees to the seismic safety appeals board shall meet the requirements of 2section 2-2-104 of this chapter except that appointees other than the public member need not be residents of the city of Beverly Hills and shall not be employees of the city of Beverly Hills. Appointees, with the exception of the public member, shall be qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. The board shall be composed of five (5) members and shall include one member from the general public and four (4) members who shall be chosen from among the following categories, provided that no more than two (2) members of the board shall qualify from any one category: a state licensed structural engineer, a state licensed building contractor, a state licensed civil engineer and a state licensed architect. The director of building and safety shall be an ex officio member and shall act as secretary to the board but shall have no vote upon any matter before the board. (Ord. 92-O-2153, eff. 10-23-1992)
