The Superintendent shall have custody of the equipment of the Department and shall be accountable to the City Manager for its care and safe keeping. He or she shall maintain a running inventory of the equipment, together with all cars or other vehicles, and shall maintain thereon the estimated value thereof, which shall be revised from time to time. He or she shall furnish the City Manager with a copy thereof and shall file a copy with the City Clerk. The Superintendent shall make recommendations to the City Manager as to needed supplies and equipment.
