§ 150.155 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ANTENNA. The arrangement of wires or metal rods used in transmission, retransmission and/or receptions of radio, television, electromagnetic, or microwave and other wavelength signals, or includes microwave and other wavelength reflectors/antennas regardless of mode or method of signal transmission.
   ANTENNA SUPPORT STRUCTURE or TOWER. Any tower, mast pole, tripod, lattice, box frame or other structure utilized for the purpose of transmission, retransmission and/or reception of electromagnetic radio, television or microwave and other wavelength signals regardless of mode or method of signal transmission.
   APPLICANT. Any person, corporation, club, group, or other establishment seeking an approved location and design for a communications tower and subsequent site.
   COMMUNICATIONS OPERATIONS, AMATEUR. The transmission, retransmission and/or reception of radio, television, electromagnetic or microwave and other wavelength signals regardless of mode or method of signal transmission for private or personal use and not for the purpose of operating a business and/or for financial gain.
   COMMUNICATIONS OPERATIONS, COMMERCIAL. The transmission, retransmission and/or reception of radio, television, electromagnetic or microwave and other wavelength signals regardless of mode or method of signal transmission primarily for operating a business and/or financial gain.
   HEIGHT. The total elevation of the antenna, including the base pad, building, tower or other structure to which it is mounted.
   MICROWAVE REFLECTOR/ANTENNA.
      (1)   An apparatus constructed of solid, mesh or perforated materials of any configuration that is used to receive and/or transmit microwave signals from a terrestrial or orbital located transmitter or transmitter relay.
      (2)   This definition is meant to include but is not limited to what are commonly referred to as satellite receive only earth stations or satellite dishes.
   MONOPOLE. A structure composed of a single spire used to support telecommunications and other electronic communications equipment.
