It is unlawful and an offense to flee from a police officer if a person:
(A) Upon stopping his or her vehicle at the signal of a law enforcement officer, abandons the vehicle and leaves, or attempts to leave, the immediate area without the permission of the law enforcement officer;
(B) Is a passenger in a vehicle and abandons the vehicle after a law enforcement officer has signaled the vehicle to stop;
(C) After the vehicle has stopped, leaves the immediate area without the permission of the law enforcement officer; or
(D) Is a pedestrian and leaves, or attempts to leave the immediate area after being directed by a law enforcement officer to stop or to remain in the area for a reasonable length of time.
