§ 118.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ATTENDANT. An employee of an operator qualified by knowledge and experience to operate a wrecker.
   OPERATOR. Any person owning or operating a wrecker service, including any employee of any person owning or operating a wrecker service.
   REFERRAL. A request of the Police Department to an operator that the operator provide wrecker service provided that a request to an operator expressly designated by the owner/operator of the vehicle to be impounded shall not constitute a referral.
   SERVICE or WRECKER SERVICE. The use of the wreckers for hire.
   SPECIAL TOWING SERVICE REFERRAL. A request by the Police Department to an operator to provide wrecker service for vehicles that cannot be provided by the licensees on the approved rotation list.
   WRECKER. A truck or other vehicle equipped and used for the purpose of towing or removing wrecked, damaged, disabled or impounded vehicles from the place where they were wrecked, damaged, disabled or impounded.
