(A) (1) Any animal taken up and impounded, except dogs and cats may be sold at public auction by the animal control officer at any time after the expiration of five days from the impounding of the same.
(2) The animal control officer shall personally attend to the selling of all animals and shall give at least five days' notice of the time and place of the sale, by causing notices thereof to be posted in at least four public places, including the City Pound, the Police Headquarters and the City Hall, and by mailing the notice to the owner of the animal when the name of the owner is known.
(B) The notice shall be in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF SALE OF IMPOUNDED ANIMALS
Taken up and impounded in the City Pound of the City of Bethany, Oklahoma, on the day of , , the following described animals found running at large contrary to the ordinances of the City of Bethany, to wit: , said animals, unless redeemed will be sold at public auction for cash to the highest bidder at the City Pound, at the hour of o 'clock, , on the day of , .
