The Fire Chief shall inspect, or cause to be inspected, as often as may be necessary, but not less frequently than the Manager may prescribe, the buildings, premises and public thoroughfares in the city for the purpose of ascertaining and causing to be corrected any condition liable to cause fire, or any violation of the provisions of any ordinances of the city affecting the fire hazard.
