SECTION 6-1. NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS, NONPARTISAN ELECTIONS.

Candidates for Councilmember shall be nominated by wards, and Councilmembers shall be elected by wards. Candidates for Mayor shall be nominated at large, and the Mayor shall be elected at large. Both the primary and general elections shall be nonpartisan, and no party designation or emblem shall be placed on the ballots.
