In the event the water customer requests that a meter be replaced by reason of suspected inaccuracy a fee will be charged in advance to cover the costs of removal and testing of meter. In the event the meter is tested as registering usage greater than actual usage then the meter shall be deemed defective and the meter exchange fee will be refunded however if the meter tests as accurate in reading then the fee will be retained by the city to defray the costs of the removal and testing.
