(A) The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the City Manager.
(B) He or she shall have had five years actual experience as a paid or volunteer firefighter. The assistant chiefs and paid members shall be appointed by the Chief, by and with the consent and approval of the City Manager. The assistant chiefs shall have had three years actual experience as a paid or volunteer firefighter. The Chief may appoint other or additional non-paid members as in his or her judgment will be in the best interest of the city. A list of all appointments shall at all times be furnished to and kept on file with the City Clerk.
