(A) A certain document, two copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the city, being marked and designated as the NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code, 2003 Edition, as promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association, for the purpose of prescribing minimum requirements necessary to establish a reasonable level of fire and life safety and property protection from the hazards created by fire, explosions and dangerous conditions, and all of the regulations, penalties, provisions, conditions, terms and appendices of the Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set forth herein, save and except the portions as may be hereinafter amended or deleted.
(B) The power and authority to adopt subsequent editions of this NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code is hereby invoked and the subsequent edition of the Code, together with all regulations, penalties, provisions, conditions, terms and appendices of the Code, by reference, shall be adopted as the city’s NFPA 1 Uniform Fire Code upon each and every subsequent edition’s publication, to supersede and take precedence over any prior edition, and in the absence of future specific action by the City Council to the contrary, without any further action on the part of this City Council.
