(A) A certain document, two copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk, being marked and designated as the International Property Maintenance Code, 2006 Edition, as promulgated by the International Code Council for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use, and the demolition of the existing structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the Property Maintenance Code on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set forth herein, save and except the portions as may be hereinafter amended or deleted.
(B) The power and authority to adopt subsequent editions of this International Property Maintenance Code is hereby invoked and such subsequent edition of the Code, together with all regulations, penalties, provisions, conditions, terms and appendices of the Code, by reference, shall be adopted as the city’s International Property Maintenance Code upon each and every subsequent edition’s publication, to supercede and take precedence over any prior edition, and in the absence of future specific action by the City Council to the contrary, without any further action on the part of this City Council.
