§ 1458.01 DEFINITIONS.
   The words and terms used in this chapter shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, unless the context clearly indicates a different meaning. The use of any term in the present tense shall include the future and past tense of the term, when applicable, and all terms used in the singular shall include the plural and all words used in the masculine gender shall extend to and apply to the feminine gender, when applicable.
   OPERATOR. The person erecting, maintaining or using scaffolding.
   OWNER. The owner, manager, agent or other person in charge, possession or control of a building located within the city. Where an owner is in charge, possession or control of only a portion of a building, the requirements of this chapter which apply to owners shall apply only to that portion.
   SCAFFOLD or SCAFFOLDING. One or more temporary elevated or suspended work units and their supporting structure(s), used for supporting one or more workers or materials or both. Aerial buckets, one-person harnesses and ladders used singly (for example, without platforms or ladder jacks), shall not be considered to be scaffolding for the purposes of this chapter. Notwithstanding any other provision hereof. Scaffold or scaffolding erected by the owner of record of a property occupied by such owner of record shall be exempt from the requirements of this chapter.
   SCAFFOLDING WORK. Erecting, using or allowing the erection or use of scaffolding on a building located within the corporate limits of the city.
