§ 1444.02 ADDITIONAL FEE FOR WORK WITHOUT PERMIT.
   In addition to liability for any other penalty provided by law, a person who makes an application for a permit, the fee for which is included in § 1444.01, and commences the work for which the permit is required prior to issuance of the permit, shall, after the Building Department or another agent of the city discovers that the person is performing the work without the required permit, pay an additional fee of $500 before the permit can be issued, and the permit fee shall be doubled. However, for residential garage replacement or for a fence, the additional fee shall be only double the permit fee.
