§ 1440.04 BUILDING INSPECTOR.
   (A)   Establishment. There is hereby established the office of Building Inspector, who shall be a member of the Building Department and shall be in charge of the inspection of all new building construction, the remodeling or altering of present structures and all existing structures, as to their compliance with all building and zoning regulations of the city.
   (B)   Duties.
      (1)   New construction. The Building Inspector shall inspect all new building construction in the city and report thereon to the Building Director as follows:
         (a)   The first inspection shall be made within seven days of the issuance of the building permit;
         (b)   The second inspection shall be made upon the completion of all foundations;
         (c)   The third inspection shall be made when the structure is under roof or has reached its maximum height, as provided in the International Building Code, as codified in Chapter 1420; and
         (d)   The fourth or final inspection shall be made when the structure is in a habitable condition but not more than six months subsequent to the issuance of the building permit, after which final certification of the building shall be made by the Building Inspector.
      (2)   Remodeling or alteration of existing structures. The Building Inspector shall inspect all remodeling or alteration of existing structures in the city and report thereon to the Building Director as follows:
         (a)   The first inspection shall be made within ten days of the issuance of the building permit and a report thereon, in writing, shall be made to the Director; and
         (b)   The second or final inspection shall be made when the remodeling or alteration has been completed but not more than one year subsequent to the issuance of the building permit providing for the work, after which final certification of the completion of the remodeling or alterations shall be made by the Building Inspector.
      (3)   Other duties; supervision. The Building Inspector shall perform his or her duties under the supervision of the Building Director.
