(A) A certain document, two copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk, being marked and designated as the International Residential Code, 2006 Edition, as promulgated by the International Code Council for regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single-family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three stories in height with separate means of egress as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the Residential Code on file in the office of the city are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set forth herein, save and except the portions as may be hereinafter amended or deleted.
(B) The power and authority to adopt subsequent editions of this International Residential Code is hereby invoked and the subsequent edition of the Code, together with all regulations, penalties, provisions, conditions, terms and appendices of the Code, by reference, shall be adopted as the city’s International Residential Code upon each and every subsequent edition’s publication, to supersede and take precedence over any prior edition, and in the absence of future specific action by the City Council to the contrary, without any further action on the part of this City Council.
