(A) A certain document, two copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the city, being marked and designated as the International Existing Building Code, 2006 Edition, as promulgated by the International Code Council, for regulating and governing the repair, alteration, change of occupancy, addition and relocation of existing buildings, including historic buildings, as therein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees thereof; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, terms and appendices of the Existing Building Code on file in the office of the city are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set forth herein, save and except the portions as may be hereinafter amended or deleted.
(B) The power and authority to adopt subsequent editions of this International Existing Building Code is hereby invoked and the subsequent edition of the Code, together with all regulations, penalties, provisions, conditions, terms and appendices of the Code, by reference, shall be adopted as the city’s International Existing Building Code upon each and every subsequent edition’s publication, to supersede and take precedence over any prior edition, and in the absence of future specific action by the City Council to the contrary, without any further action on the part of this City Council.
