In the event that any person directly receives emergency services from the Fire Department, the Police Department, the Neighborhood Affairs Department and the Public Works Department of the city, or from the Berwyn Public Health District (hereinafter referred to as the “District”), the person shall be obligated to and shall reimburse the city or the District for all costs incurred relative thereto. The term
COSTS, as used in this chapter, shall include those expenses incurred by the city or the District in providing emergency services, including amounts to replenish necessary supplies and equipment used while providing emergency aid or services. If the services are rendered to an individual who has not attained the age of 18, then the charge shall be paid by the individual’s parents or legal guardians. The obligation to reimburse the city or the District as provided in this section shall not be applicable to individuals who are residents of the city.
