§ 830.01 MISCELLANEOUS CONTRACTORS.
   (A)   License required.
      (1)   No person shall conduct, manage, operate or carry on the business of contractor of any of the following without first obtaining a license therefor:
         (a)   Carpentry work;
         (b)   Masonry work;
         (c)   Cement work;
         (d)   Plastering and lathing;
         (e)   Structural iron work;
         (f)   Painting and decorating;
         (g)   Tile, marble and mosaic; or
         (h)   Tuck-pointing and cleaning.
      (2)   No person shall engage in the construction, erection, finishing, repair, wrecking or alteration of buildings or other structures, in the city without first obtaining a license therefor.
   (B)   Investigation of applicant. The Director of Public Works shall cause an investigation to be made of the statements made in the application for the license required in division (A) hereof and as to whether or not the applicant has the necessary equipment and experience to engage in the proposed business.
   (C)   Compliance required; inspection of work. A person who holds a license as required in division (A) hereof shall perform his or her work in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Director of Public Works and shall be subject to inspection during the performance of the work as deemed necessary by the Director. The Inspectors of the Department of Public Works may enter the premises, at all times during business hours, for the purpose of inspecting any work being performed on the premises.
