§ 464.01 HEAVY AND LIGHT TRAFFIC STREETS; WEIGHT LIMITS.
   (A)   (1)   For the purpose of preserving the streets of the city and promoting their intended use, the following streets in the city are hereby designated as heavy traffic streets: Roosevelt Road, Cermak Road, Twenty-Sixth Street, Stanley Avenue, Windsor Avenue, Ogden Avenue, Pershing Road, Ridgeland Avenue from Roosevelt Road south to Ogden Avenue, Harlem Avenue and Oak Park Avenue.
      (2)   All alleys and other streets and public ways in the city are hereby designated as light traffic streets.
   (B)   Trucks, automobiles, automobile trucks, automobile trailers or other vehicles which, together with their loads, exceed four tons in weight are hereby confined to the use of heavy traffic streets. No vehicle shall be driven or propelled along or upon any light traffic street, except for the purpose of delivering or removing goods or material to any resident on the street. In that case, however, the vehicle shall enter upon the light traffic street from the nearest intersection with a heavy traffic street and shall return to the heavy traffic street by the shortest route.
   (C)   Except as otherwise provided by ordinance and posted as set forth in § 442.01, all other traffic is hereby permitted to use any of the streets of the city.
