(A) The Burlington Northern and Canadian National/Illinois Central railroad lines traversing the city between Lombard Avenue on the east and the center-line of Harlem Avenue on the west are hereby declared to be and are designated as a “quiet zone.”
(B) No person, railroad employee or railroad train engineer shall sound or otherwise activate any railroad train engine or locomotive horn or whistle within any designated “quiet zone” in the city except when absolutely necessary to avoid or prevent personal injury or property damage.
(C) The Department of Public Works is hereby directed to erect appropriate signage designating the “QUIET ZONE.”
