(A) Upon notice to the City Council, the Mayor may temporarily suspend or modify any of the regulations in this chapter for a period not to exceed 60 days upon determining that suspension or modification of the regulation is necessary for the convenience or protection of the public and in furtherance of the public welfare.
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle in violation of temporary regulations established by the Mayor in accordance with this section when notice of the regulations are posted conspicuously in the area affected.
