All appointed officers of the city shall execute and file with the City Clerk a bond with security to be approved by Council and the Director of Finance, payable to the city in a penal sum as may be required by ordinance for the office, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of the office and the payment of all monies received by the officer.
