§ 132.01 ASSAULT AND BATTERY.

(A) Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.

ASSAULT. Any willful and unlawful attempt or offer with force or violence to do corporal hurt to another.

BATTERY. Any willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another.

(B) Prohibition. No person shall commit an assault or battery, or both, upon the person of another.
