(A) The Police Department is hereby authorized, pursuant to state law, to charge a fee in the sum of $5 for each vehicle inspected. The fee shall be charged to the owner of the vehicle or vehicles for the inspection verification of the facts set forth in the application for a certificate of title for the vehicle or vehicles.
(B) The police officer making the inspection is authorized to collect the fee and shall remit all fees daily to the Chief of Police or his/her duly authorized representative. The Chief of Police or his/her duly authorized representative shall remit the fees at least monthly to the Clerk-Treasurer.
(C) A receipt for the certificate of title inspection fee shall be given to the owner paying the fee with a duplicate copy of the form retained by the Police Department.
