2-1-7: OFFICERS AND ADVISORS:
   A.   Secretary:
      1.   The board may employ a secretary at such compensation as may be approved by the board of trustees in the annual budget. In the alternative, the board may designate one of its own members to act as secretary, with or without compensation. If the secretary is to be compensated, the amount thereof shall be fixed by the board of trustees.
      2.   The secretary shall keep the minutes of the board's proceedings (copies of which shall be sent to the village board), shall be custodian of all records pertaining to the business of the board, shall keep a record of all examinations held, and shall perform such other duties as the board may prescribe.
   B.   Attorney For Board: The village attorney or an attorney appointed by the village president, with the consent of the board of trustees, shall serve as counsel for the board. (2016 Code)
