The regulations of the 2012 edition of the international fire code, as recommended by the International Code Council, Inc., and the 2015 edition of the National Fire Protection Association 101 life safety code, both published in pamphlet form, are adopted as the fire code of the village regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling, and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises, with such amendments as set forth in section 10-9-1-2 of this chapter.
