§ 54.502 PROHIBITION OF SMOKING
   (A)   Smoking is prohibited in all city-owned buildings and vehicles as defined herein, including elevators, restrooms, lobbies, reception areas, hallways, and any other common-use areas, all areas customarily used by the general public in city-owned buildings, every room, chamber, place of meeting, or public assembly, and offices; provided, however, that smoking is permitted:
      (1)   In a city-owned vehicle which is assigned to a specific officer or employee while such officer or employee is alone in the vehicle;
      (2)   In such areas at the Parks and Recreation Complex as are specifically designated as smoking areas; and
      (3)   In such other areas outside of city facilities specifically designated as smoking areas, which shall be no less than twenty-five (25) feet beyond any entryway.
   (B)   Smoking is also prohibited within a reasonable distance of any prohibited area to insure that tobacco smoke does not enter the area through entrances, windows, ventilation systems, or other means.
   (C)   “No Smoking” signs or the international “No Smoking” symbol (consisting of a pictorial representation of a burning cigarette enclosed in a circle with a bar across it) shall be clearly and conspicuously posted at every building entrance or other areas where smoking is prohibited by this article.
