For the purpose of providing the city with rules and regulations to improve safety of the public by promoting the control of fire hazards; regulating the installation, use and maintenance of equipment; the use of structures; premises and open areas; providing for the abatement of fire hazards; and setting forth standards for compliance to achieve these objectives; the city does hereby adopt the Kentucky Standards of Safety, as promulgated by the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction, contained in 815 KAR Chapter 10, and any and all additions, deletions, or amendments which may hereafter be made thereto. A copy of the code has been and is now filed in the office of the city clerk, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length herein. The provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction, alteration or repair of all buildings and/or structures contained within the corporate limits of the city.
