(a) Full-time and part-time employees of the Village participate in one of two State retirement plans:
(1) Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) provides retirement disability retirement and survivor benefit programs for public employees.
(2) Police and Fireman's Disability and Pension Fund (PFDPF) provides retirement disability retirement and survivor benefit programs for full- time police officers.
(b) All full and part-time Village employees are required to participate in one of these two retirement systems. The Village will deduct required employee contributions from the employee's paycheck and provide the required Village portion for the employee.
(c) Any employee who retires from the Village and is subsequently rehired shall be considered a new employee for the purpose of calculation of all employee benefits.
