230.02   FOOD AND BEVERAGE PURCHASES FOR MEETINGS AND FUND-RAISERS.
   The Mayor is hereby authorized to purchase food and beverages for meetings of any public body, board, commission, public officers or public employee(s) as well as fund-raising events for obtaining money for the General Fund, whenever such meetings and/or fund-raisers are for the purpose of benefitting the taxpayers of the Village, either by way of raising additional monies for the General Fund or some special fund of the Village, or for the furthering of a public purpose and of conducting public business. The Mayor shall be authorized to spend not more than that amount authorized by Council in the budget from year to year, without additional approval from Council, for food and beverages. Any food or beverage consumed by any public official or employee while participating in the aforementioned meetings or fund-raisers will not be considered under any circumstances to be a fringe benefit applicable to that official or employee.
