1240.01   INTENT/DEFINITIONS.
   The provisions of this chapter are established to achieve effective, efficient and uniform administration of these regulations. For purposes of these regulations, certain terms are defined as follows:
   (a)   "Block" means a tract of land bounded by streets.
   (b)   "Commission" means the Planning Commission of the Village.
   (c)   "Council" means the Council of the Village.
   (d)   "Street" means a right-of-way, publicly or privately owned, which provides public vehicular and pedestrian access to adjacent properties. All streets are hereby divided into the following classifications:
      (1)   Principal streets: All county routes.
      (2)   Secondary streets: All others.
   (e)   "Subdivision" means the division of a tract or parcel of land, containing a proposed street, for the purpose, whether immediate or future, of transfer of ownership or of building development, provided, however, that this definition shall not apply to divisions of land for agricultural purposes into parcels of more than five acres, and provided, further, that no parcel of such division shall be less than the minimum area required by the Zoning Code for a dwelling in the district in which such parcel is located.
   (f )   "Village" means the Village of Bentleyville, Ohio.
