1458.02   PERMITTED SIGNS.
   The following types of signs shall be permitted:
   (a)   Nameplates.
      (1)   One nameplate indicating the occupant's name, house number and/or home occupation, neatly lettered, not exceeding 2 square feet in area nor longer than 30 inches, located in the yard.
      (2)   One such nameplate, not exceeding 2 square feet in area nor longer than 30 inches, located on the house. The top of the sign shall not exceed the top of the first floor windows.
   (b)   Directional Signs. One directional or "no trespassing" sign, not exceeding one square foot in area and not over 2 feet high.
   (c)   Bulletin Boards. One bulletin board or announcement sign, not exceeding 25 square feet of visible surface for each street frontage and 6 feet in height, shall be permitted on the premises of a public or semi-public institution. In addition, temporary signs may be permitted for special events.
   (d)   Real Estate Signs.
      (1)   One temporary "For Sale" or "To Rent" sign, not exceeding 4 square feet in total area or three feet in height, shall be permitted for each dwelling or lot. Such sign shall be located not less than 15 feet from the front or any side lot line. Signs advertising rental of rooms shall not be permitted.
      (2)   Subdivision development signs shall not exceed 50 square feet in total area for each street frontage and shall be located not less than 200 feet from any occupied residence. Permits for such temporary signs shall be for a period not exceeding one year and may be renewed while construction is being pursued diligently.
   (e)   Picnic Signs. Picnic signs may be permitted for the day only, provided a permit is secured from the Building Inspector prior to posting.
   (f)   Sale of Farm Products. One temporary sign advertising the sale of farm products, not exceeding four square feet in total area or 3 feet in height, shall be permitted for each dwelling or lot. Such sign shall be located not less than 15 feet from the front lot line or any side lot line and shall advertise only those products raised upon the property on which the sign is located.
