The Municipal Court shall try and determine all cases involving any violation of this chapter occurring within the corporate limits and shall have jurisdiction over criminal cases, with the right and duty of sending the cases, occurring within the corporate limits but beyond its jurisdiction to try, to the higher courts. Any persons convicted hereunder shall be treated as municipal prisoners.
