The Municipal Court may try and determine criminal cases involving violation of the provisions of this code or provisions of the S.C. Code relating to motor vehicles and traffic occurring within the corporate limits, when the penalty prescribed by state law for violations does not exceed 30 days imprisonment or $200 fine. The Court may have trial jurisdiction over criminal cases the same as magistrates.
