§ 52.06 REPLACEMENT OF WATERLINE.
   Water service lines shall meet or exceed the recommendations of the current "Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois." If a waterline is leaking, struck, damaged or deteriorating and the line is composed of lead, galvanized or other dangerous metals, the property owner/permittee shall be required to replace the entire waterline running from the buffalo box to the interior of the structure. The use of lead pipes or other dangerous pipes is strictly prohibited. All water service lines must be replaced with at least a one-inch service line with type K copper, unless otherwise approved by the Public Works Director. Compliance with all federal and state laws is required.
