§ 150.08 ELECTRICAL CODE.
   (A)   The Electrical Code of the village (hereinafter referred to as the "Electrical Code") shall hereafter be identical with the provisions of that publication entitled the NFPA National Electrical Code, 2017 edition (the "National Electrical Code") and which is incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth, except as amended in this chapter.
   (B)   Amendments to Code. Additions and deletions of sections of the Electrical Code are as follows:
      (1)   All one-, two-. three-family dwellings, the service disconnect means shall have a rating not less than 100 amperes.
      (2)   Service risers.
         (a)   100-amp risers to be not less than 1-1/2 inches.
         (b)   200-amp risers not less than 2 inches.
         (c)   400-amp risers not less than 3-1/2 inches.
      (3)   Aluminum and copper clad aluminum.
      (4)   Cloth-covered ring is prohibited.
      (5)   All current-carrying conductors shall be in EMT, IMC, or Rigid conduit in residential properties.
      (6)   Upgrades required. At the change of use or occupancy the following items will be brought into compliance with the adopted codes.
         (a)   Emergency light battery packs and exit signs.
            1.   Signs to be illuminated with 90-minute battery backup.
      (7)   Full upgrade to 100-amp service including riser piping service head, meter socket and service panel.
         (a)   Service panel to have each breaker serve a single circuit only. Eliminate double wires.
      (8)   Service panel changes. Incoming electrical service is required to be upgraded to current standards.
         (a)   No aluminum wire permitted.
         (b)   Risers shall be aluminum IMC or heavy wail pipe.
      (9)   No fuses permitted in residential properties.
      (10)   Article 100-1 Definitions - General - Authority Having Jurisdiction (addition).
         Add: The Building and Zoning Department shall be charged with the enforcement of the electrical code, and the Building Commissioner shall be known as the Code Official, authority having jurisdiction.
      (11)   Article 210-8 Ground Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection for Personnel (addition).
         Add: (F) Building and Zoning Department inspectors reserve the right to require groundfault circuit-interrupter protection where a potential hazard may exist.
      (12)   Article 210.70 (A) (1) Habitable rooms - After first sentence add the following:
         "When such rooms or areas. including hallways, arc accessible by more than one passageway, there shall be a switch to control a lighting outlet(s) within six (6) feet of the opening of such room or area at each entry or exit."
      (13)   Article 320 Armored Cable Type AC (delete article).

      (14)   Article 326 Integrated Gas Spacer Cable Type IGS (delete article).
         Delete: Entire article. Use not permitted.
      (15)   Article 330 Metal-Clad Cable Type MC (delete article).

      (16)   Article 332 Mineral-Insulated, Metal-Sheathed Cable Type MI (delete article).
         Delete: Entire article. Use not permitted.
      (17)   Article 334 Nonmetallic-Sheathed Cable Types NM, NMC and NMS (delete article).
         Delete: Entire article. Use not permitted.
      (18)   Article 340 Underground Feeder and Branch-Circuit Cable Type UF Section II Installation, 340.1 0(4) installed as nonmetallic-sheathed cable (subsection).
         Delete: Entire subsection. Installation as nonmetallic-sheathed cable not permitted.
      (19)   Article 362 Electrical Nonmetallic Tubing Type ENT (delete article).
         Delete: Entire article. Use not permitted.
      (20)   Article 394 Concealed Knob-And- Tube Wiring (delete article).
         Delete: Entire article. Use not permitted.
      (21)   Article 398 Open Wiring on Insulators (delete article).
         Delete: Entire article. Use not permitted.
      (22)   Article 410.410.10.11 Luminaire (Fixture) In Specific Locations, (A) Wet and Damp Locations (addition).
         Add: Installation of outdoor luminaires (fixtures) on the exterior of a property shall be installed so as to not cause glare or excessive amounts of light onto neighboring property or onto public property/right-of-way, thereby creating a public nuisance or hazard, as determined by the building commissioner.
   (C)   Compliance required; application of provisions.
      (1)   Compliance required. It shall be unlawful to design, install, construct, reconstruct, alter or use/maintain electrical systems in any building or structure in the village in violation of the terms and provisions of this chapter.
      (2)   Application to existing permits. This chapter shall not be construed to extend to or affect any construction activity for which a permit was issued or application for permit filed prior to the effective date hereof, except for fees not yet due or payable, unless the Building Commissioner determines that any provision of this chapter or the regulations incorporated herein by reference should be applied for reasons of public health and safety.
   (D)   Penalties. Any person, firm or corporation violating the terms and provisions of this chapter shall be liable for a penalty in the amount of 100% of any unpaid fee and, in addition, shall be punishable as provided for each violation.
