All antennas allowed in the village shall be erected and maintained in accordance with the following specifications for the respective districts hereinafter set forth.
(A) Yard location.
(1) No ground mounted antenna of any kind shall be placed in the front yard of any lot within a residence district or B-1 district of the village.
(2) No ground mounted antenna of any kind shall be placed in the side yard of any lot within a residence district or B-1 district of the village.
(3) A ground mounted television or radio antenna shall be placed only in the rear yard of a residence district or B-1 district of the village.
(4) A satellite dish antenna shall be ground mounted and placed only in the rear yard of a residence district or B-1 district, provided, however, that on a convincing showing that a useable satellite signal cannot be obtained from a rear yard location, the Zoning Administrator shall permit the antenna to be located in the side yard. If such a useable satellite signal cannot be obtained from a side yard location, the Zoning Administrator shall permit the antenna to be located on the roof of an accessory building, if possible, otherwise on the roof of the main building, subject to the further provisions herein.
(5) No ground mounted antenna of any kind shall be located less than five feet from any lot line.
(6) No ground mounted antenna of any kind shall be located on any public utility easement.
(7) No ground mounted antenna of any kind shall be mounted to a platform or structure of less than eight feet in height above ground level.
(8) No ground mounted antenna shall exceed an overall height including platform structure to which it is mounted of the maximum height limitation allowed in that district.
(9) No lot in any residence district or B-1 district shall have at any one time, more than one satellite dish antenna, one television antenna and one radio antenna. Each antenna shall only service those persons who occupy the lot.
(B) Roof mount requirements.
(1) No roof mounted antenna in an R-1 district shall extend more than ten feet above the roof line. No roof mounted antenna in any other residence district or a B-1 district shall extend more than ten feet above the roof line.
(2) No roof mounted satellite dish antenna shall exceed the diameter size necessary to obtain a useable satellite signal, but in no event shall the diameter exceed 12 feet.
(C) Antennas in B-2 commercial and industrial districts.
(1) Any roof mounted antenna in a B-2 commercial or industrial district shall not extend more than 12 feet above the roof line.
(2) No roof mounted satellite dish antenna shall exceed 12 feet in diameter.
(3) No ground mounted antenna shall be located in the front yard. No ground mounted antenna shall be located in the side yard if the side yard abuts a residential district, provided, however, that side yard location will be allowed abutting residential districts if the antenna substantially is screened by landscaping.
(4) No ground mounted antenna shall be located within five feet of any lot line nor within any public utility easement.
(D) Requirements for all antennas.
(1) The color of any ground mounted antenna shall be dark brown, black or forest green. Any other antenna shall be of a color that blends as much as possible with its surroundings. Roof mounted satellite dish antennas shall be of a mesh construction.
(2) All antennas shall be grounded against direct lightning strike.
(3) All antennas shall be erected in a secure and wind-resistant manner.
(4) Any electrical wiring necessary for the installation of an antenna shall be utilized in conformity with the electrical code adopted by the village.
