§ 99.015 HONORARY STREET NAMING.
   (A)   The Village President shall have the authority to designate honorary street names to village streets, or portions thereof, upon consent and approval of the Village Board of Trustees and to direct appropriate village employees to erect official signs reflecting such honorary designations.
   (B)   Any individual desiring the honorary naming of any village street shall provide a written request to the Village President, which request shall include the following information regarding the individual for whom the honorary naming is requested:
      (1)   The name, social security number and date of birth of the individual, if available;
      (2)   A detailed description of the background of the individual, including all civic and/or leadership activities, appointments, achievements, offices or contributions made by such individual;
      (3)   Each and every reason the village street should be named in his or her honor;
      (4)   Whether the individual is deceased; and
      (5)   Whether the individual has any direct ties or connections to the village.
   (C)   The designation of an honorary street name to a village street shall be for ceremonial purposes only and shall not supplant, or in any other manner affect, the official name of the village street.
