It is declared to be the public policy of the village in the exercise of its power to regulate for the protection of the public health, safety, morals and welfare: to assure fair housing and freedom from the effects of residential segregation by race, color, sex, age, religion, disability, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, marital status, parental status, military discharge status, source of income, gender identity, or housing status, retaliation, aiding/abetting, intimidation, and willful interference and coercion, to promote population diversity in a free and open community, and to secure to its citizens the economic, social and professional benefits of living in an integrated society.
